Thermal Risk Dashboard
The Kite Thermal Risk Dashboard is the first step in setting up an organisation’s heat management. It allows organisations to identify those workers at risk of potential heat stress by creating Thermal Risk Assessments. These assessments define base risk values for different worker groups (or SEGS, Similar Exposure Groups) and identify their risk of heat stress for each month of the year.
The Thermal Risk Assessment follows the methodology determined by the Australian Industrial Occupations Hygienists.
Thermal risk assessments can be created for both groups of workers and specific tasks, to determine their potential for heat stress. For each assessment you will provide information about the group/task by selecting options from dropdown menus, with each option having a risk value ranging from 0 (low risk) to 3 (high risk).
These values will be added up to calculate the Base Risk Value for the group/task, and this is used to determine the likelihood of each risk level based on 45 years of past data.
This data can be used to identify the worker groups that are at risk of the illness and may require additional control during high risk time of the year.
Thermal Risk Dashboard Features:
A table is displayed showing recorded thermal risk assessments, with the following fields:
Assessment Name - this must be unique and should clearly define the group being assessed.
Creation Time - the date and time the assessment was created.
User - the user who created the assessment.
Base Risk - the base risk value for the assessment.
Buttons to view or delete the thermal risk assessment.
This dashboard also provides the ability to search past assessments using the search bar in the top right corner. You can search based on any of the fields mentioned above.
Creating a New Assessment
To create a new assessment, first select the + New Assessment button in the top right corner of the dashboard page. You’ll be taken to the Hazard identification page shown below. Fill out the fields (those with a star * are required) and select Continue.
You’ll now be shown a preview of your thermal risk assessment. If you would like to change anything, select the Back button at the bottom of the page. If you want to save your assessment as it is, select the Create button.
