Do I need a weather station?

Having a weather station at your site allows for more up-to-date data, but you don’t need to have one to use Kite.

The forecast is generated by a numerical weather model and downscaled to a resolution of 90m. This means it generates a new forecast every 90m to take into account local terrain features.

If you have a weather station it is advisable to add it to the platform to allow the Kite team to monitor the forecast performance. It is also useful for reporting.
